COLUMBIA, MD-- Lillie Mae Harrison Henry, 68, better known to her family and friends as Mae, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. She was a long time resident of Medway, MA before moving to Ellicott City, MD in 2010 to be near her children. Her two sons were by her side when she drifted off to be with the Lord. Born January 1, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Isaiah Harrison, Sr. and the late Albertha Coath Harrison.
Mae was always independent and unafraid, and after graduating high school she moved to Boston, MA. During her time spent in Massachusetts, she became a member of the Greater Framingham Community Church and accepted her call to serve as a devoted and dedicated deacon. Mae thoroughly enjoyed cooking and was a meticulous dinner planner who took pride in her table presentations. She was also an excellent baker whose sweet potato and apple pies were always in high demand. In addition to spending time with her family and friends and attending church, she enjoyed traveling on cruise ships.
Next to serving the Lord, her first priority in life was to rear her two sons to become men. At the same time, she spent 30 years working for Haemonetics Inc. (Braintree, MA) where she had retired as a Quality Control Manager.
Mae leaves to cherish her fond memory: two sons, Cleveland (Kristine) Henry, Jr. and Christopher Henry of Columbia, MD; one grandson, Xavier Henry; eleven sisters: Lucille Smith of Columbia, SC; Mary Lee (Nathaniel) Wilder of Spartanburg, SC; Barbara (Jimmy) Gill of Allendale, SC; Gloria J. Lowe, Loriann Harrison and Mary Ann (Antoine) Hancock of Columbia, SC; Queen E. Haddad of Middleton, NY; Merilyn (Leon) Williams of Walterboro, SC; Marie (Vernon) Lane of Germany; and Ernie Mae (Lewis) Mitchell of Fairfax, SC. Her sister, Minnie Lee Harrison, preceded in death.
She also leaves behind seven brothers: Isaiah (Fannie) Harrison, Jr. of Boston, MA; George (Maggie) Harrison of Brockton, MA; Isaiah Edward (Mary Jane) Harrison of Jacksonville, NC; Tonnie George (Francina) Harrison of Virginia Beach, VA; Lyndon B. Harrison of Washington, DC; Johnny L. (Tina) Harrison of Orangeburg, SC; and Joseph (Kim) Harrison of Atlanta, GA and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
