Priscilla Ann Cooksey Belue

VINTON, VA-- Priscilla Ann Cooksey Belue, of Vinton, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012, at her home.
She was born on October 21, 1939, in Spartanburg, SC. She was the daughter of the late Eber Adile and Sue Levina Cooksey also of Spartanburg, SC. She graduated from Fairforest High School of Spartanburg. As a Navy wife, she lived in many different places before settling in Vinton. Before her retirement she was employed with the Roanoke City Health Department WIC Clinic and Lowe's. She was an active member of Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church and loved gardening and sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Paul Norman Belue, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Norman Belue, Sr. of Vinton, VA; her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Lynn Belue Boone and Ernest Benjamin Boone of Roanoke, VA; three very special granddaughters, Lindsay Marie Belue, Rowan Elizabeth Boone and Bronwyn Iris Boone, all of Roanoke, VA; a daughter-in-law, Amanda Huston Belue of Roanoke, VA; her two brothers, Ronald Adile Cooksey of Summerville, SC, and Elvis Jerome Cooksey of Jacksonville, FL; and a very special sister in friendship, Charlene Wolfe of Vinton, VA.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, physical therapists and staff of Carilion Home Health, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Unit 8 South; The Berkshire Health and Rehab Center; and Good Samaritan Hospice for the excellent compassionate care she received.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Chaplain Karen Cassell officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221.
