DUNCAN, SC-- Eugene Alvin Sloan, 76, of 1106 Duncan Reidville Road, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013. He was the husband of Carolyn Sexton Sloan and son of the late Alvin Uriel Sloan and Edna Lucille Waddell Sloan. He was a member of Reidville First Baptist Church and was retired from Bilo Trucking. He served proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors also include two sons, Philip Eugene Sloan of Blue Ridge and James Bobby Sloan of Duncan; a daughter, Elaine Sloan Lanford of the home; a brother, Wallace Sloan of Duncan; six grandchildren, Ashley, Jason, Vince, Charlie, Victoria and Emily; two great-grandchildren, Timothy and Keylee; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Stephanie and Steven Lanford; and two sisters, Betty Sloan Hutchins and Martha Ann Styles.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 5th in The Stribling Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dean Patton and Rev. John Lancaster officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service. The interment will be at Wood Memorial Park.
