BOILING SPRINGS, SC- Marla Maria Loftis, 59, of Boiling Springs, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was born in Spartanburg, SC on August 27, 1953, a daughter of Sarah S. Williams of Spartanburg and John Surenson of Fayetteville, NC. She was the sister to Tina Wilson of Spartanburg and the beloved wife of David L. Loftis, Sr. for 40 beautiful years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Allison Dominick of Boiling Springs and Jennifer Cowgill of Buford, GA; three grandsons, J.D. Loftis, Payton and Carson Dominick and one granddaughter on the way.
Marla lived with a chronic, progressive disease. The courage and strength she showed to her family and others was nothing less than inspirational. Although small in size, at just 4'10", she had a huge impact on her family and others lives. Her selflessness continues to shine through everyone who knew her and we will never forget how deeply she touched each and every one of us.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 3:00 pm at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel of Boiling Springs with Rev. Steve Rhodes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children's Security Blanket, 1855 East Main Street, Suite #14, Box 101, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
The family is at the home of her daughter, 310 Barefoot Lane, Inman, 29349.
