GREENVILLE, SC-- Mrs. Nancy Perry Morgan, 89, widow of Clinton Heyward Morgan and former resident of Woodvale Avenue, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, February 19, 2013.
Born in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Adie and Dorcas Gamble Perry.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Greenville where she volunteered as a leader of Cradle Roll. For more than fifty years she visited each expectant mother and newborn baby of the church. She played an instrumental role in the local PTA, served as District PTA President and was honored with a South Carolina Lifetime Membership. Nancy was also active with the Junior League of Greenville, The Assembly and was a charter member of The Debutante Club. She delivered Meals on Wheels for over 30 years and was active in various other charities.
Outside of her love of the Lord her greatest passion was her love of her family. She cherished being a mother and often remarked that she was truly blessed and that her "cup runneth over". Lastly, Nancy will be remembered for her sweet smile and loving nature shown to all.
She is survived by her children, Gayle Morgan Key, and husband, Gene Key, Ray Morgan, and wife, Susan Gray Morgan, Bob Morgan, and wife, Jennie Rudisill Morgan, all of Greenville, Mary Morgan Parker, and husband, Richard Parker, of Summerville, Jim Morgan, and wife, Peggy Oxford Morgan, of Winston-Salem, NC, and Clint Morgan, and wife, Barbara Pawloski Morgan, of New York, N,Y.; grandchildren, Chas Key (Susan), Kem Key Erskine (Guy), Heyward Key (Ansley), Bryan Key (Joanna), Tricia Parker Malphrus (John), Perry Parker Behrens (Brian), Robyn Parker Neville (Tristan), Nancy Clare Morgan, (Nick Barto), Jamie Morgan, Anna Morgan Hewitt (John), Gray Morgan (Lacey), Jennifer Morgan Burgess, Michelle Morgan, Lauren Morgan Winchester (Chris), Robert Morgan, and Shirley Ann Morgan; 25 great-grandchildren; and a very dear friend, Ella Johnson.
Services will be Friday at 11a.m. at First Baptist Greenville , with the Reverend Dr. Baxter M. Wynn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Narthex of the church.
The family is at the home of Gene and Gayle Key, 97 Forest Lane, Greenville.
