Myrtle Byrum
BOILING SPRINGS, SC-The love of our lives, our mother, Myrtle C. Byrum, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Mary Black Hospital. She was the widow of John J. Byrum.
Mrs. Byrum was a native of Spartanburg County and a daughter of the late Albert and Mamie Crowe Cooper. She was a retired employee of Abbott Laboratory and a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. She was a candy striper at Spartanburg Regional Hospital for a number of years.
She is survived by sons: Don Byrum of Chesnee and John Byrum of Boiling Springs; daughter-in-law Kim Atkinson of Spartanburg; sisters Edna C. Lavender of Moore, SC, and Audrey C. Plemmons of Spartanburg; six grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7-10 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the residence, 111 Midland Drive, Boiling Springs.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Eggers Funeral Chapel of Boiling Springs, officiated by the Rev. Ken Mayfield and the Rev. Gary Hensley. Interment will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Chosen Children's Ministry, 9418 Asheville Highway, Inman, SC 29349.
The family will be at the residence.
