GREER, SC-- Velma Colleen Stokes Belcher Phillips, 88, widow of Odell Phillips, died April 9, 2014 at Alpha Health and Rehab.
A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Edmond E. and Susie Atkins Stokes, she was a retired employee of Tungsten Industries and a member of Piedmont Park Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law: Vickie and Johnny Bruce of Greer, Kathy and Mike Pruitt of Travelers Rest, and Billie Kae and Larry Hart of Taylors; a daughter-in-law, Debra Belcher of Greer; a sister, Brenda Burgin of Piedmont; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Phillips was predeceased by a beloved son, Kenny Belcher, a brother, Jack Stokes, a sister, Barbara Kenney, and Mrs. Phillips' longtime companion, Roy C. Putnam.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Martin Atkins. Burial will follow in Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary.
