GAFFNEY, SC-- Mr. Robert Henry Peeler, better known as the "Produce and Peanut Man," 70, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Born December 15, 1943 in Cherokee County, he was the loving husband of Deborah Lee Cantrell Peeler and the son of the late Summie Peeler, Jr., and Eloise Price Peeler. He was the owner of Christy's Produce, a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was an avid outdoors and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he survived by five children: Scarlett Lisa Cantrell, Christina Peeler, Robert Lee Peeler (Rebecca McCarson), Richard Summie Peeler (Tracy) and Rodney Todd Peeler (Diane); brother, Butch Peeler; sister, Lanese Peeler; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and by his beloved dogs and fishing companions, Lacey and Zuce.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Peeler and granddaughter, Christy Cantrell.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice Care of SC.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel of Chesnee with Dr. Terry Duvall and the Rev. Wayne Arrowood officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robert Peeler's Memorial Fund, 815 S. Alabama Ave. Chesnee, SC 29323.
The family will be at the home.
