Madge Pettit
INMAN, SC-- Madge Shropshier McKinney Pettit, 93, passed away June 15, 2014, at Inman Health Care. Born August 14, 1920 in Clifton, she was a daughter of the late Pliny Hastings Shropshier and Beulah Mae Hughes Shropshier. She was the widow of her first husband, J. Henry McKinney, Sr., and her second husband, Roy E. Pettit, Sr.
Mrs. Pettit was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, a graduate of Cowpens High School, and worked for Milliken & Company as a bookkeeper.
She is survived by three sons, Larry G. McKinney (Claudette) of Brownwood, TX, James H. McKinney, Jr., (Cindy) of Spartanburg, and Albert "Bill" P. McKinney of Spartanburg; a brother, Pliny Shropshier (Dreama); two sisters, Gladys S. Kuester and Carolyn S. Riddle; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Harry B. Shropshier, and two sisters, Vera S. Wilson and Idalene S. Branch.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Bobo Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob Pettit officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM.
