CHESNEE, SC-- Mrs. Ophelia Kelly Sherbert, 91, formerly of Chesnee, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2014. She was the widow of Paul B. Sherbert.
Mrs. Sherbert was a native of Whitestone, SC, and a daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha Gore Kelly. She retired from Prym-Dritz after 25 years of service. She was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons Paul Glen (Felicia) Sherbert of Inman and Melvin Thomas Sherbert of Chesnee; daughters Betty (Leonard) Hutchins of Cooley Springs and Bobbie (Frank) Horton of Chesnee; a brother William K. Sherbert of Chesnee; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and 17 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Buck Creek Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Gary Adkins. Interment will be in the Church cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Cedar Springs Baptist Church, c/o Mountainvew Nursing Home Fund, 140 Cedar Springs Place, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
The family will be at the home of Betty Hutchins of Cooley Springs.
