George Edward Jones Means
WELLFORD, SC-- George Edward Jones Means, 64, peacefully entered rest on Monday, September 1, 2014. George was a native of Spartanburg County; he was the son of the late Octavia Nance Means and the late Edward Miller.
Mr. Means was a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church.
Left to cherish fond memories are: his children, Rebecca Turner and Sophia Johnson; his siblings, Kenneth Ray (Carolyn) Jones Means, Alexander 'Sonny' (Faye) Jones, Robert Casey (Diane) Jones, Larry E. (Letetia) Cohen, Willie Earl Berry, Kenneth Nesbitt, Eddie Miller, Steve Fowler, and Erica Miller; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his aunts, Mary (Tim) Penson and Harriet Means; other dear relatives and friends.
A Celebration of the Life of George Edward Jones Means will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Travelers Rest Baptist Church, 110 Brewton Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The Rev. Leon Wright will officiate. Interment will be held in the Travelers Rest Baptist Church Cemetery, Old River Road, Spartanburg, SC.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at The John Stinson Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC 29303 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the home, 204 Millbank Rd.
