COWPENS, SC-- Jimmy Lee Hayes, 62, of 131 Twin Creek Road, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Chesnee, he was the husband of Kimberly Jonas Hayes and the son of the late Gettys Lee Hayes and Millie Blackwell Hayes. He was retired from construction, avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman and gardener, loving to share what he grew. Mr. Hayes was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, also surviving are a son, Jimmy Duke Hayes of Cowpens; two stepsons, Billy Kirby and wife, Lisa of Spartanburg and Robbie Kirby of Pacolet; a stepdaughter, Frankie Painter and husband, Roy of Gaffney; a brother, Larry Dean Hayes and wife, Kathy of Gaffney and a half brother, Jerry Wayne Blackwell and wife, Irene of Chesnee; and two grandchildren, Jimmy Austin Hayes and Jayce Price. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Hayes; and a brother, Terry Dean Hayes.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers, Mike Clark and Carol Jonas.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at New Vision Baptist Church in Chesnee. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the church.

The family will be at their respective homes.
