GAFFNEY, SC-- Annie Lee Wyatt Fayssoux, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and wonderful friend to so many, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2012. Annie was born on February 10, 1918, in Pacolet, SC to the late John and Maude Trantham Loftis. She lived the majority of her life in Gaffney, SC in the family home built by her and her husband, Ernest.
Mrs. Fayssoux retired from the textile industry, and later worked with the Senior Center of Cherokee County, as a social work coordinator and established programs in Gaffney and Blacksburg, SC. Annie Lee was a lifelong learner, avid reader, exceptional writer, skilled artisan and a dedicated caring mentor. She was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church, where she was a quiet and dedicated soldier for her Lord.
Mrs. Fayssoux was the widow of the late Ernest Vernon Wyatt and the late Allen E. Fayssoux. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ernie Wyatt; five brothers; and three sisters.
Annie Lee is lovingly survived by daughters, Diane Cantrell of Nashville, IN and Janice Poates of Fairfax, VA; grandsons, Randy (Denise) Cantrell of Chino Hills, CA and Matthew Cantrell of South Pasadena, CA; great-grandsons, Corey, Kalen, Quinlan and Keeton Cantrell; brothers, Charles Loftis of Gaffney and Tom Loftis of Manassas, VA; a sister-in-law, Ruth Wyatt Weathers of Pacolet; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ms. Jan-Marie Gray, Annie Lee's special caregiver, and to the Rehabilitation Staff and the Unit 1 Staff of Peachtree Centre for their exceptional care and concern.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wofford Caughman officiating. The interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
