INMAN, SC-- Mr. Leard F. "Lee" Vaughn, 86, of Chesnee, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Magnolia Manor of Inman. A native of Stephens County, GA, he was the loving husband to Margaret Stephens Vaughn for 65 years. He was a plant engineer for the textile industry, a member of Orchard Street Baptist Church and was a Master Mason in the Walden Lodge #274 serving over 50 years. Mr. Vaughn proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and was present during D Day in Germany. In his spare time, you could often hear him operating on HAMM radio.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Steve Vaughn and his wife Lorraine of Chesnee; one daughter, Teresa Smith of Marion, NC; three grandchildren, Allison Styles and her husband Keith, Luzette Anderson and her husband Russell, and Trent Vaughn; two great-granddaughters, Kassie and Piper Styles; and by a longtime, loyal friend, David McKinney.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Gene Vaughn.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 12, 2013, at Eggers Funeral Home from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel of Chesnee with Rev. Rick Millwood officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
