GAFFNEY, SC-- Michael Stan Perry, 56, of 199 Abernathy Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 23, 2013 at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Judy Hemme Perry of the home and was the son of Stanyarn Perry and Bobbie Bolin Perry of Gaffney. Mr. Perry was a graduate of Gaffney High School, a graduate of Limestone College, and received his Master's Degree from Tusculum College. He was a district manager with Piedmont Natural Gas. Mr. Perry was also a member of the Gaffney and Spartanburg Rotary Clubs, a member of the Gaffney and Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce and formerly served as a volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club.
Surviving are two sons, Christopher Michael Perry and John-Thomas Perry, both of Gaffney; a daughter, Dianna Michelle Peterson and husband, Joseph Benjamin, of Gaffney; a brother, Johnny Perry and wife, Tammy, of Gaffney; two sisters, Cathy Jolley and Melissa Clearwater, both of Gaffney; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Central Church of Christ in Spartanburg with Mr. Ernie Thigpen, Mr. Christopher Michael Perry, Mr. John-Thomas Perry and Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Church. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM in Frederick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeastern Children's Home, P.O. Box 229, Duncan, SC 29334 or Central Church of Christ "Building Fund", 2052 N. Church Street Place, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family will be at the residence, 199 Abernathy Drive, Gaffney.
