Harry Scruggs Obituary
COWPENS, SC-- Harry Lee Scruggs, 86, of 1943 Bonner Road, went home to be with the Lord at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late Mary Sue Arrowood Scruggs and the son of the late Brackett Scruggs and Viola Williams Scruggs Bloodworth. He enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. Mr. Scruggs was retired from Kohler and a member of Crestview Baptist Church.
Surviving is a son, Randy Scruggs of Cowpens; a brother, J.B. Scruggs of Cowpens; a sister, Margaret Melton of Gaffney; two grandchildren, Jamie Scruggs; and Kelly Scruggs Carver and husband, Philip; and three great-grandchildren, Chase Carver, Samantha Carver and Aubree Scruggs. Mr. Scruggs was preceded in death by a son, Harry Lee (Peewee) Scruggs Jr.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Crestview Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the church with Rev. Rick Taylor and Dr. Larry Melton officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels, P.O. 1886, Gaffney, SC, 29342.
The family will be at the home of Philip and Kelly Carver, 2017 Bonner Road.
