BOILING SPRINGS, SC- Bernard Pruitt, 73, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Monday, August 28, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 29, 1944, in Cherokee Springs, SC, he was the son of the late Stead James and Doris Feagan Pruitt.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Mr. Pruitt was a member of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church, Cherokee Springs Lodge #135 AFM, Hejaz Shriners and a former member of the Hillbilly Clan #2. He was the former owner and operator of M&S Truck & Tractor Service on White Avenue.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Pamela Ray Pruitt; sons, Scott B. Pruitt (Pamela H.) and Marc B. Pruitt (Elizabeth B.), all of Boiling Springs, SC; granddaughters, Anna and Allison Pruitt and Calleigh and Marlie Pruitt; and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Arthur Pruitt, Carol Pruitt, and sister, Sybil Goode.
Masonic Rites will begin at 6:30 PM with visitation following 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 1, 2017, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, by the Rev. Ed Stallworth. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
Pallbearers are Kenny Crowe, Geoffrey Threatt, Chris Threatt, Bennie Sloan, Pat Ballew, and Aaron Schenck.
The family is at the home of Pamela Pruitt.
