HUNTINGBURG – Irene "Margie" Ranger, 91, of Huntingburg, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at her home.

She was born Sept. 30, 1922, in Huntingburg, to the late John Oliver and Eva (Long) Trotter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ora A. Ranger, who died May 29, 1984; stepson Lloyd Ranger; stepdaughter June Hoover; sisters Bernice Trotter, Dorothy Rikard and Violet Head; brothers Alfred, Charles, Calvin and Clarence Trotter and twin siblings who died in infancy.
Margie married Ora A. Ranger May 3, 1947. She was a homemaker, a member of the Holland United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose in Jasper. She was an active volunteer for many years with R.S.V.P., blood drives, Christian Ministries and Shared Abundance, and worked at bingo games at The Waters of Huntingburg and Core nursing homes.
Margie is survived by two stepsons, J. Roy Ranger of Huntingburg and
Leland (Barb) Ranger of Valparaiso; her caregivers, Cheryl and Jim Ranger of Dale and stepgrandchildren and nieces Marge, Jean and Connie.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 5, at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial in Dale Cemetery. Chaplain Jack Neighbors officiated.
