NEW BOSTON – Bernice N. Fischer, 89, died July 24, 2017, at her daughter, Nancy and Leroy Berger's residence in Jasper.
She was born March 3, 1928, to Ed and Carolyn Kleiser Hess of New Boston. Bernice married Albert Fischer on June 5, 1948. She retired from the Tell City Chair Company and was a member of St. John Chrysostom Church.
Bernice enjoyed playing Euchre and Dominos, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, quilting, and making sweet rolls and turtle soup.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (Leroy) Berger of Jasper, Allen (LeeAnn) Fischer of Chrisney, and Connie (Todd) Elliott of Zionsville. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and five great, great-grandchildren.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; her daughter, Shirley Harris; and a great-granddaughter, Anna.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, at St. John Chrysostom Church with burial immediately following in Church Cemetery. Father Ralph Schipp will officiate. Visitation will be held from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
