ROCKPORT – Geneva Howell, 83, passed away in Rockport on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017.
Geneva was born on Nov. 28, 1933, in Chrisney to the late Gilbert and Lillie Barker.
Geneva worked for G.E. in Tell City and Owensboro, Pinkerton Tobacco Company in Owensboro, and she delivered the Courier & Press for many years in Rockport, She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion of Rockport, and she loved euchre tournaments. Family was the most important to her, especially her grandchildren, She was the best fan at all the grandchildren's ballgames, and she loved to cook Sunday dinners.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronald Mack Howell Sr. who passed away in 1993, son, Michael Rhett Howell, sisters; Orlena Miller, Wilma Minkler, brother, Gilbert Barker Jr., grandson, Ronald Mack Howell III.
Geneva is survived by daughter, Teri Dee Rose of Rockport, son, Ronald Mack Howell II of Rockport, daughter-in-law, Debra Howell of Rockport, grandchildren; Brandi Coomes, Stephanie Rose Butler, Sally Rose, Kate Miller, Jesse Howell, Megan Howell, Spencer Howell, Charlie Howell, and also 9 great-grandchildren.
Services are Monday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Burial will follow at Little Pigeon Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday, Oct. 15, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and after 8 a.m. Monday.
Memorial donations can be made to the Spencer County Library or American Legion.
