GRANDVIEW - Janice Lynn Freeman, 81, of Grandview passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at her home.

Janice was born in Spencer County Nov. 27, 1931, to the late Lloyd E. and Swanie Fay (Barton) Lashley.
Janice was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Newtonville.Â She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Lashley, Ted Lashley and Leonard "Jr" Lashley, and a sister-in-law, Josephine Lashley.
Janice is survived by her husband, Joseph Freeman of Grandview; her children, Steve Garrett and his wife, Ann of Richland, Rick Garrett and his wife, Linda of Richland and Mark Garrett and his wife, Peggy of Yankeetown;Â his step-daughters, Lynn Seger and her husband, Larry of Chrisney, Donna O'Keefe of Grandview, Cathy Allen and her husband, Mark of Loogootee, Judy Jahn and her husband, Robert of Jasper, Mona Loper and her husband, Willy of Grandview, Pamela Dean and her husband, Jason of Huntingburg and Wendy Cushard and her husband, Kenny of Grandview;Â brothers Howard Lashley and his wife, Carole, and Jimmy Lashley and his wife, Madonna;Â his sisters-in-law, Shirley Lashley and Pat Lashley and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Wednesday, May 1, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. The Rev. Drex Stewart officiated.Â Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery in Rockport.
