NEWBURGH – Jared Wayne Shourds, 44, of Newburgh, formerly of Rockport, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Jared was born in Tell City Oct. 3, 1969, to Kenneth Wayne and Carol (Lottes) Shourds.
He was a graduate of South Spencer High School and Kentucky Wesleyan College. Jared had worked for Channel 44 and Channel 7 News as a technical director. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church of Chrisney.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Wayne "Ken" Shourds and his nephew, Colin Kent Shourds.
Jared is survived by his wife, Andrea Shourds; his mother, Carol Shourds; his siblings, Stacy Huffman (Randy); Kelly Ward (Eddie) and Jason Shourds (Tammy), all of Rockport; his grandmother, Helen Lottes; his aunt, Nancy Lottes; his nieces and nephews, Taylor, Ethan, Wesley, Tyler, Whitney, Kerrigan, Kylie, Kendalyn, Michaela and Cain, and many extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Chrisney. The Rev. Mark Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Little Pigeon Cemetery in Chrisney.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Cornerstone United Mthodist Church.
The family would like to thank the staff at West Park, Select Specialty Hospital and Deaconess Hospital for their care of Jared.
Memorial contributions may be made to Child's Play and Cornerstone United Methodist Church.
