Jerry K. Arteberry, 79, of Grandview, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
Jerry was born in Cheyenne, Wyo., on April 10, 1939 to the late Carl and Hazel (Johnson) Arteberry.
Jerry was a graduate of Almo High School class of 1957. He received a bachelor's and master's degree from Murray State University. Jerry was an educator with the South Spencer School Corp. for 29 years. He was a 50 year member of Murray Masonic Lodge #105, Scottish Rite and Hadi Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Barnett.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat Arteberry of Grandview; his sons, Alan Arteberry and his wife, Lynn of Newburgh; Eric Arteberry and his wife, Teresa of White House, Tenn; his Grandchildren, Jordan Arteberry of Minneapolis, Minn., and Brett Arteberry of White House, Tenn.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Rockport, with Pastor Carl Jones and Pastor Roberta Cook officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Hardin, Ky.
Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. A Masonic service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held from noon until the time of service Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the South Spencer Scholarship Foundation.
