FERDINAND – Kathleen Ann Ebert of Ferdinand passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2017, at the age of 71.
Born on June 6, 1946, to Ben and Henrietta (Dischinger) Seng of Dubois, she was the fifth of seven children.
She was united in marriage to James Ebert on Aug. 19, 1967, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Dubois.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Jim, of 50 years; four children, Julie (John) Becher of Mariah Hill, Jeff (Theresa) Ebert of St. Meinrad, Jill (Casey) Ebert-Lasher of Evanston, Kim Ebert and husband Jim Zink of Raleigh, N.C.; six siblings, Richard (Mary Kay) Seng and Michael (Helen) Seng of Dubois, Sister Paulette Seng of Ferdinand, Ramona Pfaff of Jasper, Jane (Tom) Benda of Dubois, Marilyn Seng of Ferdinand; 11 grandchildren, Mason, Mitchel, Murray, Marcus, and Mia Becher; Ben, Claudia, and Luke Ebert; Cora and Joe Lasher; Abram Zink.
She graduated from Academy Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand and attended Vincennes University Jasper Center. She was a member of St. Meinrad Catholic Church.
Kathleen was a Pioneer seed sales agent with her husband for 40 years. She was much involved with her family, friends, community, and parish: director and teacher of religious education, Girl Scouts leader, 4-H leader, softball coach, church choir member, seamstress, gardener, and accomplished cook and baker. She was a life-long learner and lover of nature and enjoyed snow-skiing and traveling.
Funeral services for Kathleen Ebert will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Meinrad Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 to 10 CDT Tuesday at the church. Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand is in charge of arrangements.
