Ronnie Lee Rust Sr., 71, passed away Dec. 5, 2017 at his home in Petersburg.
He was born Oct. 29, 1946, to the late Ralph and Oleiva VanWinkle Rust in Troy. Ronnie married Dora Sattler Rust on April 7, 1995.
Ronnie was a member of the National Guard and a mechanic for Solar Sources. He enjoyed playing music and fishing. He was one of the founders for the Bluegrass Jamboree, worked for Carpenters for Christ, and was a member of the Hephzibah Littles General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dora; his children, Ronnie (Rusty) Rust, Jr. and Donnie Rust of Walhalla, S.C.; HIS siblings, Lynal Rust and Bennie Rust of Grandview, Patsy Rowe of Parrotsville, Tenn., Gaye Rickenbaugh of Dale, Lynell Sickle of Hubert, N.C. and Susie Brock of Tell City. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, Kelli, Kenli, Carter Rust and six others and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with burial in New Hope Cemetery in Newtonville. The Rev. Charles Baxter will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 at the funeral home.
