RICHLAND – Billy Joe Weatherholt, 65, passed away August 31, 2017 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.
Billy Joe was born on March 26, 1952, in Evansville, IN. to William Loyd and Genevie (Montgomery) Weatherholt.
Billy Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lloyd Ray Weatherholt and Max Weatherholt, grandson, Jaydan Englert.
Billy Joe is survived by his wife, Gayla (England) Weatherholt; daughters, Alicia Buse and her husband, Steve, of Hatfield, IN, Janet Simpson of Boonville, IN., and Julie Englert and her husband, Kenny, of Ferdinand, IN.; sisters, Linda Sue Adams and her husband, Gene of Evansville, IN., LeeAnn Pickerill and her husband, Kenny, of Richland, IN., Lisa Bowman and her husband, Randy, of Grandview, IN.; grandchildren, Brieanna Nash-Englert, Bryce Buse, Logan Simpson, Colin Buse, Autumn Simpson(Little Bit),.
Billy Joe was a graduate of South Spencer High School in 1970, a member of Hatfield United Methodist Church, a member of the 1972 Wheelchair Team in the Paralympics in Heidelberg, Germany, and a National Champion in shot put, javelin, and discus. He also was a Luce Fire Department dispatcher for several years.
Billy Joe encouraged his girls to do everything, to never give up, and not to be quitters, his enthusiasm for life was contagious.
Funeral Services are 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with Reverend Steve Buse officiating.
Burial will be at James Parker Cemetery in Hatfield.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
