Alta Burnett, 89, of Taylorsville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
She was retired from General Electric, but enjoyed many years as a wife, mother and homemaker; spending much of her time caring and loving on the children of the family.
Alta had a gentle spirit with an infectious smile and had a kind word for everyone she met. She prided herself on being "Doctor Grandma" to all in her care. Alta was a member of Elk Creek Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 66 years, Clarence Burnett, along with daughter Connie Decker, and her husband, Bruce, and son Thomas Burnett and his wife, Debbie; as well as three grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters Alene Burton, Dorothy Kerns and Mabel Barnes; two brothers Joe Kerns and Dallas Kerns; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She will be greeted in heaven by her parents, Hobart and Pearl (Coffey) Kerns; four brothers, Glenn, Charlie, Roy and little Bud; as well as her precious great-great grandson, Hunter.
Services: March 16 at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville.
Gifts may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or Kosair Children's Hospital.
