Jessica Carlisle 'Jan' Driscoll

Jessica Carlisle "Jan" Driscoll, 92, of Louisville, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Baptist Healthcare East in Louisville. Born in Spencer County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Elvy P. and Edith Truax Carlisle and the widow of the late James W. Driscoll. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Randall and Alma Carlisle. She was still a member of the First Baptist Church of Taylorsville. A lady of strong endurance, she faced the joys and adversities of life with a great sense of humor and commitment to work. She was still an employee of the medical offices of Sasser, Davis and Iglehart, where she had worked for over forty years, and even worked on Friday before entering the hospital on Sunday. Enjoying the company of friends and family and always being a contributor to the life of any gathering, she and her co-workers enjoyed margaritas after work last Wednesday. She was a devoted dog owner, and she had a passion for gardening. Friends and family will always remember her huge, beautiful flower garden.
Leading her life by example, instilling a strong work ethic in her children, she leaves a rich legacy to her survivors who include her three children, Patrick Driscoll and Kathleen Mattingly both of Louisville and Mike Driscoll and his wife, Annie, of Taylorsville; her brothers, Paul Carlisle and his wife, Marilyn, of Nashville, Tennessee, and Bill Carlisle of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sister, Frances Aubrey of Louisville; and her nine grandchildren and her six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Pearson Funeral Home in Saint Matthews with Rev. Bill Dunning officiating. Interment will be in the Big Spring Cemetery in Bloomfield, Ky. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Pearson's, and expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Kentucky Humane Society. The arrangements are under the direction of the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville and online condolences may be expressed at
