Mary Elverta Newcomb

A Taylorsville resident, Mrs. Mary Elverta Newcomb, formerly of Ottaw, Okla., passed away peacefully with her family and friends by her side on Nov. 20, 2013, at her residence four days after celebrating her 92nd birthday.
She was the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha Hall Millard. She was a seamstress, homemaker and member of Taylorsville First Baptist Church, as well s a very active member of the Waterford Homemakers. She was a lovely lady who always shared a smile with all she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Newcomb; a brother, Charles Millard; and daughter-in-law, Liz Mayberry.
She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Joyce Bulf (Ron) of Taylorsville and Twyla Jo Ann Reiboldt (Wally) of Mohava Valley, Ariz.; two sons, Charles Monroe Mayberry of Mount Washington formerly of Taylorsville and Darrel Watson (Delores) of Hoopa, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Nov. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home.
Services: Saturday, Nov. 23, at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Gary Mills officiating.
Cremation followed the funeral service.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home of Taylorsville was in charge of arrangements.
