Viola Faye (Fike) Carrithers

Viola Faye Fike Carrithers, 80, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at her residence.
Born in Irvine in Estill County, on Feb. 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Callie Horn Fike, and the widow of John William Carrithers.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Taylorsville, she worked as a homemaker and on the family farm. She was an active participant in the community and her hobbies included cake decoration.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Fike.
Her survivors include her two sons, Gary W. Carrithers and his wife, Ellen, of Goshen, and David W. Carrithers and his wife, Stacie, of Bardstown; her grandsons, John Eric Carrithers, and his wife Leah, Adam Carrithers and Andrew Carrithers; and her granddaughters, Ashley Carrithers Dossett, and her husband, Mac, and Amanda Carrithers.
Services: Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Mavis Bennett officiating. Interment: Valley Cemetery.
