Mr. Allen Thomas Brookshire, 89, of Taylorsville, passed away Nov. 25, 2013 at Hosparus Palliative Care in Louisville.

He was born in Spencer County and is the son of the late Guy Hughes and Minnie Belle Monroe.
He was a heavy equipment operator, member and deacon of Taylorsville First Baptist Church and an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as three sisters, Glenna Robinson, Wilma Stump and Marge Henry, and three brothers, Hugh, Frank and Cecil Brookshire.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Bryant Brookshire of Taylorsville; his daughters, Kathy Jean Pavy (Ed) of Campbellsville, and Debbie Jo Riddle (Kenny) of Louisville; his son, Terry Brookshire (Joyce) of Shelbyville; three sisters, Pauline Henry of Taylorsville, Anna Ruth Tindle of Shelbyville, and Betty Rae Curry of Bardstown; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Nov. 29, from 2-8 p.m. at Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Taylorsville First Baptist Church.
Services: Saturday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. at the church with Bro. Gary Mills officiating. Interment: Valley Cemetery.
