Bernard Edward Lilly Jr. of Taylorsville died at home on March 25, 2013. Bernard was born on January 19, 1947, was a lifelong resident of Spencer County and a member of All Saints Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Edward Sr. and Eleanor Foreman Lilly.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa E. Winkler of Taylorsville; daughters Nikki Murphy and her husband, Henry, of St Louis, Mo., Lindsey Lilly of Huntsville, Ala.; and one grandson, Bing Murphy. Also he is survived by nine brothers and sisters: Bernice Beeler and her husband, Don, of Bardstown; Phoebe Brown and her husband, Lowry, of Taylorsville; Janet Leigh and her husband, Benny, of Gloucester, Va.; Phyllis Fitzgerald, Lenore Karem and her husband, Don, John Lilly and his wife, Mary, and Joe Lilly and his wife, Melanie, all of Louisville; Helen Wheat and Doey Kirk and her husband, Roger, of Lexington.
Bernard was a graduate of St. Joseph Preparatory School in Bardstown, St. Catharine College, the University of Louisville and the United Electronics Institute. He was self-employed most of his adult life.
Bernard chose to donate his body to the University of Louisville Medical School and requested there be no memorial service.
In keeping with his belief that charity should begin at home, he asked that all expressions of sympathy be made to Spencer County Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 999, Taylorsville, Ky. 40071.
