A Taylorsville resident, Mr. David "Bubba" Bowens, age 57, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at his residence. He was born November 12, 1959, in Shelbyville to the late Henry and Bessie Mason Bowens. David was an employee of Black and Decker in Shelbyville and a member of the Taylorsville 2nd Baptist Church. He loved to fish, talk on his CB Radio, and loved to laugh and make others laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanine Richardson Bowens; daughter, Danekwa Bowens; three sisters, Alfreda (William) Currie, Diane Bowens, and Mary Libby Bowens, all of Taylorsville; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. David "Bubba" Bowens were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017, at the Taylorsville 2nd Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. Charles Burton officiated. Interment was in Campbranch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation was Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Additional visitation was Saturday after 10 a.m. at the church. The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville was in charge of arrangements.
