A Bowling Green resident, Mr. David James Cook, 70, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018, in Hospice of Southern KY. He was born July 8, 1947, in Louisville but grew up in Spencer County, KY.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hesby "George" Cook; mother, Elizabeth Yount; step-fathers, Marvin Day and Austin Yount; brother, Robert Montfort; brother-in-law, Henry Fonseca; along with many Hayes in-laws.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pamela Hayes Cook; son, Matthew (Dana) Cook; daughter, Karyn Anderson (companion – Jean-Phillippe Gros); grandson, Tyler Cook; siblings, Don (Nancy) Cook, Virginia "Sunny" (Robert) Coots, Mark (Lori) Day, Alvin (Louann) Yount, Tom Yount, Kathy (Mark) Pait, Deborah (Michael) Hinchman, and Sandy Yount; sister-in-law, Tee Montfort Fonseca; as well as many nieces, nephews and Hayes in-laws.

The family wishes to thank The Haven of Massey Springs and Hospice of Southern KY for their fine and loving care of David.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson's, 1249 US-31 BYP Bowling Green, Ky. 42101 or Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, Ky. 42104.

Funeral services for Mr. David James Cook will be 2 p.m. (EST) Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home, 101 Reasor Ave. Taylorsville, KY 40071. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery, Taylorsville, KY 40071.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 p.m. until time of funeral service. The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.
