Dawson Moore, 11, of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.
Born in Louisville, he was the son of Todd and Melody Moore. He was a member of First Assembly of God of Taylorsville. A student at Taylorsville Elementary School, he was active in the chorus and ensemble and an all-A student. He was a member of the academic team and was recognized as a distinguished student in math, science and reading.
Being a sports enthusiast, he played football on the Spencer County Stallions and baseball in the Spencer County Youth Baseball League, and he was an ardent and fervent University of Kentucky Wildcat fan.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Curtis Wayne Moore and Louis T. Nation.
Survivors include his parents, Todd and Melody Moore; his brother, Mason Moore, of Taylorsville; his grandmothers, Shelia J. Goodwin and Anna Mary Nation, both of Taylorsville, and Vicky Moore of Bardstown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation: Sunday, April 7, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Monday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Spencer Christian Church in Elk Creek the Rev. Chad Goodlett officiating. Interment: Mount Washington Cemetery.
