Ethel Marie Burns, 84, of Taylorsville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

She was born in Spencer County. She was a homemaker and she was a member of the Little Union Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Ethel Pearl Welch Moore; her sister, Virginia Higgs; and her brothers, Abe Joe Moore, Noah Jr. Moore, J.P. Moore, and Malcolm Moore.
She is survived by her husband, Leon Burns of Taylorsville; her son, Terry Burns of Taylorsville; her sisters, Mildred Sewell of Mount Washington, Ada Couch of Taylorsville, Vivian Shelburne of Louisville, and Betty Brown of Taylorsville; her brother Curtis Moore; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Greenwell Houghlin Funeral Home.
Services: Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Greenwell-Houghlin Chapel with Bro. Will Sipes officiating. Burial: Valley Cemetery.
