Gayle Jeffries, 70, died on Monday, June 12, 2017, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Nina Jane Hill Jeffries. A graduate of Taylorsville High School, she received her associate's degree from Spencerian College. She was an employee of Republic Bank and Trust Company in Louisville where she worked for over twenty-eight years. She was a member of the Taylorsville United Methodist Church where she formerly sang in the choir and formerly taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and bowling was one of her favorite sporting activities. She will always be well remembered for her love for children and spoiling her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Matthew Stanley Jeffries.

She is survived by her brother, Irvin Jeffries and his wife, Kathleen of Taylorsville; nephews, Thomas Jeffries and his wife, Leah, of Shelbyville, Charles Jeffries and his wife, Lori, of Frankfort, and Benjamin Jeffries, also of Frankfort; niece, Allison Horsley and her husband, Mike, of Cedar Rapids, IA; three great-nephews; and one great-niece.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Taylorsville United Methodist Church, with Reverend Charles Hatfield and Reverend Benjamin Jeffries officiating. Interment was in the Valley Cemetery, Taylorsville. Visitation was 3 p.m., until 8 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville, and after 9 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Taylorsville United Methodist Church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Taylorsville United Methodist Church.
