A Louisville resident, formerly of Taylorsville, Mrs. Karen Lynn Lawson, age 68, passed away Saturday September 15, 2018, at her residence. Karen was born December 4, 1949, in Shelbyville, to the late Arthur and Dollie (Jewell) Nation.

She was a retired bookkeeper for Drs. Crain and Oder, a former bookkeeper for the Spencer County Sheriff Department, a self- employed beautician and a member of Lyndon Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Lawson; daughters, Loraine (Ed) Hammerbeck of Louisville, Lisa (Doug) Scott of LaGrange; son, Jamie (Mychell) Lawson of Louisville; brother Randall (Rose) Nation of Taylorsville; and grandchildren, Sophia and Jack Hammerbeck, and Jasmine Scott.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Karen Lawson will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Greenwell- Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Sister Mavis Bennett will officiate. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to; The Healing Place, 1020 W. Market St. Louisville Ky. 40202.
