Martha Lewis Graves, 84, died on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Baptist Health Louisville. A native of Spencer County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Thomas and Rose Hill Lewis. She was a member of the Briar Ridge Christian Church and a former member of the First Christian Church of Taylorsville, where she formerly taught Sunday School, Bible School, and sang in the choir. She was a former employee of the old Liberty National Bank and Curtis Industries in Shelbyville. She was a gifted artist and accomplished seamstress, gardener, and cook.

Her survivors include her husband, Tommy Graves of Taylorsville; son, Robert L. Graves and his wife, Starla, of Taylorsville; daughter, Karen L. Johnson and her husband, Glenn, of Taylorsville; step-daughter, Diane Graves of York, Pennsylvania; sisters, Kay Eckler and Barbara Ann McMillan, both of Taylorsville; and two grandchildren, Christopher Glenn Johnson and Jessica Keener.

Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2018, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville. Reverend Lonnie McNabb officiated. Interment was in Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville. Visitation was from 12 noon until 2:45 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2018, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville, and expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the .
