Marvin Eugene "Gene" Ockerman, 81, of Bardstown, passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Baptist Health in Louisville.

He was born April 2, 1932 in Chaplin and was a United States Air Force Veteran during the Korean War, having served overseas in the 2nd Radio Squadron in Darmstadt, Germany. After 37 years with Barton Distilling Co., he retired in July 1995. He was a member of Bardstown United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Margaret Sweazy Ockerman; and brother, Benjamin Ockerman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Anna Frances Satterly Ockerman; two daughters, Vickie Ockerman (Sandy) MacPherson, and Sherry Ockerman Tewell; three grandchildren, Gam MacPherson, Lindsey Tewell and Zach Tewell; and two sisters, Brenda (Danny) Stewart, and Betty Shofner.
Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Barlow Funeral Home.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott C. Stith officiating. Burial: Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.
