Lester Jessie Tindle Sr., of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Crestview Healthcare. He was a native of Spencer County, an Army veteran, retired farmer and a member of the Little Mount Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Iva Brooks Tindle; brothers, Cecil and Earl Tindle and grandson Todd Tindle.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Juanita Burgin Tindle of Shelbyville; sons, R.E., Boyce, Ed, and Lester Jr. all of Taylorsville, and Terry Tindle of Shelbyville; brothers, Paul Tindle of Taylorsville, David Tindle of Wilmore, Bernice Tindle of Shelbyville; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home.
Services: Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Brother David Clay officiating.
Interment: Elk Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
