I am Robert's Nephew. We last saw each other when I was about 8 yrs old at Uncle Lees house in Rapid City SD. Mom, Wilma Petty Jones always talked about him and spoke of letters and phone conversations with Bob thru the years. Thanks to your service to your country and family and to mankind in general. I remember grandpa with much admiration (Wm B Petty)& Great Grandpa for their leadership and men of valor. Bob & Lee fell in line and so I understand did Bob's sons.

I remember Bob fondly through out the years. I rember an article that he wrote for the SR when I was, seemingly, distracted by my lunch in center field at a father and son Scout baseball game. I raised my mit and caught a ball. To my and everyone's surprize! The last time I saw him was with Scott and he were cutting fire wood in the early 90's. He will be missed. God's peace to the family in this hard time.
