Bruce R. CROWE(10/18/1936 - 03/12/2014)

CROWE, Bruce R. (Age 77) Passed away peacefully on March 12, 2014 at his winter home in Maricopa, AZ. Bruce was born on October 18, 1936 in Crossnore, NC to Bruce and Hosafa Crowe. He moved to Wenatchee, WA as a child and then to Spokane, WA in 1954. He attended John R. Rogers High School, where he met his wife, Jacquelyn Amsden. After graduating from high school in 1955, he spent four years in the Naval Air as a flight engineer/plane captain. He and Jackie married on November 9, 1957. When they returned to Spokane, Bruce worked as Computer Information Services Director in the Spokane area for 15 years. He started his own company, CFM, Inc. in 1976, and instructed computer programming and software classes for District 81, SFCC and IEL. He retired in 1995 and began a new job of sailing, snow skiing and keeping up with Jackie and five grandchildren. Bruce believed in playing as hard as he worked. He acquired his pilot license including commercial, instrument and multi-engine ratings, and he flew for business and pleasure. He raced Formula Fords and sailboats; he played softball, was an avid water skier and looked forward to rides with his buddies on his BMW motorcycle. His greatest love was snow skiing, a passion he shared with his entire family and many friends. He was a fixture at Schweitzer Mountain and Mt. Spokane, where he was a member of the Prime Timers for many years. Wherever he was, Bruce made sure he met up with his friends for morning coffee. Bruce's slice of heaven was Hayden Lake, ID, where he enjoyed many summers at the family cabin. He and Jackie also found great joy in Maricopa, AZ, where they spent winters for the past five years. Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jackie; three sons; Randy (North Bend, WA), Kirk (Houston, TX), and Todd (Liberty Lake, WA); five grandchildren; Rykley, Tamarra, Cameron, Conner and Brayley; brother; Sidney, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Forrest and Patricia Amsden, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be on Thursday and Friday 10-5PM at Heritage. A Graveside Service with military honors will be held at Riverside Memorial Park on Saturday, March 29 at 11:00 AM, followed by a celebration of life at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division Street, Spokane, WA at 1:00 PM.
