Donald Edmond LYNN

LYNN, Donald Edmond (Age 65) Passed away March 27th, 2013 at his home in Spokane, WA surrounded by his family. Don was born on August 14, 1947 in Burbank, CA. He graduated from John Burroughs High School, Class of 1965. He attended Los Angeles Community College and served two years in the Army at Fort Carson in Colorado. He then returned to Burbank to assume ownership of Lyn-Tron, Inc., a manufacturing company started by his father, Carroll Elliott Lynn. Under Don's ownership, Lyn-Tron grew to be one of the industry's most successful and respected companies. In 1993, Don moved the company from Burbank, CA to Spokane, WA. Over 30 Lyn-Tron employees and their families chose to make the move as well. Don loved going to work and cared deeply for his employees. Don's son, Tyler, has now assumed the position of President and CEO of the family business that has meant so much to the Lynn Family. Don was sealed to Karyn Diana Wyatt on May 8, 1976 for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This year they would have celebrated their 37th Anniversary together. They loved each other deeply and were best friends. Don's greatest joy was being a father to his five children Whitney, Heather, Courtney, Meredith and Tyler. The Lynn family lived in Burbank and then in La Canada, CA for 10 years prior to moving to Spokane, WA. As a devoted father, Don spent his time coaching his kids' soccer and basketball teams and attending his kids' numerous games and tournaments. In the few moments he had outside his five children's activities, he enjoyed cycling, tennis, golfing, and taking trips to see his close group of high school friends. Later in life he became interested in guns and loved going to the shooting range with his son and son-in-laws. He was also an avid reader, enjoyed discussing politics, and had a deep love for his country. Don loved to travel the world. Before his passing, Don and Karyn took a trip of a lifetime to Israel, Egypt and Jordon with Don's sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Mike Howard. Don was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served numerous times in the bishopric, was an esteemed youth leader, and found joy and fulfillment through his numerous callings at church. Don loved studying the scriptures and sharing the gospel. He was also a strong supporter of The ISAAC Foundation which provides educational opportunities and economic assistance to families with autistic children. Don centered his life around his faith in Jesus Christ, love of family and service to others. He was kind, humble, patient, hard-working, loyal, and an example to all who knew him. Don is survived by his wife Karyn (Spokane), four daughters and son-in laws Whitney and Josh Holley, Heather and Spencer Lucas, Courtney and Matthew Shelby, Meredith and Benjamin Hawkins, his son Tyler Lynn; sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Mike Howard, half-sisters Barbara Thacher and Janet Miller; and nine grand- children Josiah, Jane, Ruby (Whitney), Annabelle, Harrison (Heather), Dylan, Tegan (Courtney), Evelyn, and Aaron (Meredith). Don is preceded in death by his baby grandson Edmond (Meredith), mother Evelyn Roth Paul, step-father Lawrence "Red" Paul, father Carroll Elliot Lynn, and step-mother June Hudson Lynn. A service will be held on Friday, April 5th, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. (open viewing 9:30 a.m.) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 2721 E. 63rd Ave. in Spokane, WA.
