YARDLEY, Ed 1/28/44 to 2/16/14 (Age 70) Ed passed away at 9:30 pm at the Veterans Hospital Hospice on Sunday, February 16. He had battled prostate cancer for the past five years. Ed was born in Ontario, Oregon and grew up on a farm near Weiser, Idaho. He was drafted into the army in June of 1963. After that he joined the Army National Guard in Spokane. He was in the motor pool for the 161st Infantry Battalion until June of 1982. That same year he lost his left leg in an accident and was on disability from then on. Ed leaves behind his children, Sheri and David Hawthorne, Gary Reams, Sonja Yardley, Ray Duncan, and two granddaughters Sabrina and Rachael Culp, and many other family and friends. Memorial Service is Thursday March 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery (inside) at 21702 W Espanola Road, Medical Lake, WA, 509.714.4035 There will be a potluck lunch immediately afterwards at 603 E. Empire. All are welcome.
