Floyd ANDREW Obituary

ANDREW, Floyd "Andy" Floyd "Andy" Andrew died peacefully on August 9th. Born in Danbury, Connecticut in 1932, he spent his childhood years in New England, before moving to Walla Walla in 1950. Over much of the next 20 years, Andy earned his B.S. at Whitman, his Masters at Ohio State and his Ph.D. at Oregon State. During this same time he worked in many local hospital and pathology labs in Spokane, Walla Walla, Seattle, Salem and Portland. He completed his U.S. Navy tour in the mid-1950's, and married Roberta Jean Andrew (Griswold) on December 27th, 1960. Andy became the father to two children, Mike in 1964, and Sheri in 1967. Once his formal education was completed, he was employed as a toxicologist in Ohio, North Carolina, Washington and California. He and Roberta retired to Bend, OR in 1994, before moving to Spokane in 2008. Andy loved the outdoors. In his youth he enjoyed skiing and mountain climbing, and in later years spent countless hours hiking and snowshoeing trails throughout the mountains of the West. In addition, Andy was an avid fisherman. A man of faith, Andy was an active church member everywhere he lived; particularly in North Carolina, Bend and Spokane. He was also generous with his time and very active in the local volunteer Search and Rescue Team and at the High Desert Museum during his years in Bend. Andy is survived by his two children, Mike (Noelle) of Coralville, IA, and Sheri, of San Jose, CA, as well as his two grandchildren (Emily and Jared). He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Roberta, and his parents.
