James P. Crisler

February 3, 1932 - July 9, 2013 James P. Crisler of Valleyford, passed away July 9, 2013 after an extended bout of cancer. Jim was born February 3, 1932 on the family homestead in Valleyford where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Lindberg High in 1950 and ran the family farm until serving in the Naval Reserves on the USS Bradford during the Korean War from 1953-1955. Jim owned and operated the Valleyford Garage until the mid-1960's when he attended SCC becoming an electronic technician with 20 years in the field. In his retirement he enjoyed gold prospecting in Alaska, collecting antique radios, & working on whatever needed mending. He loved spending time with his granddaughter looking for arrowheads, planting trees or teaching her about life. He could fix anything with haywire and duct tape and had a wonderful dry sense of humor tricking anyone who he came across. Jim is survived by his wife Josephine of 51 years, daughter Melissa (Jonathan) Wright & granddaughter Raven. We would like to express our gratitude to Hospice of Spokane for their loving care of dad. A memorial gathering is planned for September 28th, 11-12:30 at the Terrace View Park shelter 13599 E. 24th Ave, Spokane Valley
