JOHNSON, Leland Bruce Our gentle son, brother, husband and father was born in Cottonwood, Idaho on June 26, 1976, and came to rest with our Lord on January 28, 2014. Lee attended Rogers High School and went on to serve in the military for the U.S. Army
. After returning home from the military, Lee was hired on to the City of Spokane. From 2001 to 2013, Lee was proudly employed and served as Crew Leader. He had a quiet confidence and loyal nature which drew many people to him. His love of the outdoors, fishing, hiking, biking and gardening were second only to the love he held for his family. Lee honored his parents, was an open door for his siblings, a provider for his family, a loyal partner to his wife and an adoring father to his little Leah Bug. Battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia for 515 days was one of his finest accomplishments. Although this world is absent his presence, he has left us with an enamored sense of his spirit. He battled cancer, took on a bone marrow transplant and even regained remission after relapse. His fight for 'one more day' inspired many and proved FAITH is the only way to live. Lee's last wish to take his daughter to Disneyland was further proof of his selflessness. Terminally ill, he flew all the way to Disneyland to spend 3 memorable days taking his Bug to see the Princesses. Funeral services will be held February 8th, 2014 at the Lincoln Center at 1316 N. Lincoln, Spokane, WA from 3 pm-6 pm. We encourage everyone to wear Seahawk colors as Lee was a 12th Man. An ice cream social is to follow the service as ice cream was his bedtime treat with Bug. Flowers may be sent to the Lincoln Center or donations may be made to the Leland Johnson Benefit fund at Student Teachers Credit Union acct #276537, funds donated will be used for his daughter's education. Military honors and burial will take place Monday, February 10, 2014 at 1:30 pm at Washington Veterans Cemetery at 21702 W. Espanola Road, Medical Lake, Washington. May he live on in our hearts and in his daughter's memory forever.
