Marvin R. Leach

August 18, 1952 - January 18, 2013 Marvin Leach was born August 18, 1952 in Spokane, WA; he passed away January 18, 2013 at Spokane VA Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Velda Leach, brother Bruce Leach, and granddaughter Faith Clarke. He is survived by his wife, Shellie Leach (Spokane), with whom he shared a 30-year relationship; brothers Keith Leach (Spokane) and Gordon Leach (Oregon), and sister Kathy Bottoms (Oregon); children, Sharon Westheimer (Maine), Mike Leach and grandsons Athan and Vance (Wyoming); stepsons Nile Clarke (Lisa), Nick Clarke (Summer) and Blair Clarke (Aleisha) and numerous grandchildren: Cytheria, Brandon, Christopher, Kiera, William, Arabella, Stephen, Tanner, Aviana, Corrina, Nick Jr., Kaleb, Gabriel, Sultan (Spokane). Marvin was raised in Spokane and graduated from high school in Troutdale, OR. He served in the Navy until 1978. Aboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga, an exciting highlight was picking up astronaut crews from the Apollo and Skylab missions. He went on to become a master welder and worked for Pro-Tech Industries in Nashville, Tennessee and Vancouver, Washington for 27 years. Marvin was known to be able to do anything with metal. He was a man of great patience and was loved by all. A military memorial service will be held Thursday, January 24th at 3pm at V.F.W. Post 51 (300 W. Mission) for family and friends.
