KNOWLES, Marvin Worth March 25, 1933 - July 8, 2014 Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday, July 8th. Born n Millwood, Washington to Harry and Thelma Knowles, he lived most of his life in Spokane with his wife Joyce and children Christine, Mark and Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lee, Lloyd and sister Luella. Marvin was a graduate of West Valley High School in 1951, then attended Eastern Washington University until he joined the Marine Corp and was Honorably Discharged in 1955. Upon his return from the Service, he met and married Joyce Stumpf in 1956. They had three children, Christine Dinning (Rick) of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Mark Knowles (Gloria) of Rancho Palos Verdes, California and Michael Knowles (Cindy) of Twin Lakes, Idaho. He has been blessed with seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Marvin was employed by State Farm Insurance and retired after thirty years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Jaycees. His hobbies were Golf, Snowmobiling, Hunting, Pickleball, Bowling, Walking and was an avid reader. For the last ten years, Marvin and Joyce were snowbirds and shared time between Spokane, Washington and Indio, California. A memorial service will be at Millwood Presbyterian Church, 3223 North Marguerite Road, Millwood WA on Friday, July 18 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to or Millwood Presbyterian Church.
